The Butterfly Garden first opened in Icod de los Vinos in 1990, but was closed twice due to various violations, most recently a year and a half ago.
In Tenerife, the TITSA bus company recently decided to allow pets on board, but owners are advised to use special carriers. Bus drivers weren't thrilled with this decision, and some passengers may have been allergic to animal odors, fur, and other factors. The popular Montaña Roja campsite, located in Granadilla de Abona, Tenerife, is facing hard times. Island authorities deemed the campsite's service unsatisfactory, and the company operating it has lost its license. A tender will be held in the future, after which the campsite will resume operations, but for now, it has been closed since October 1, 2015.
